Early life

Sonam is the elder daughter of Anil Kapoor and Sunita Kapoor and the granddaughter of filmmaker Surinder Kapoor. She is the niece of producer Boney Kapoor, actress Sridevi, actor Sanjay Kapoor and producer Sandeep Marwah. Kapoor is the eldest of three children; the others are sister Rhea Kapoor and brother Harshvardhan.

She went to school in Mumbai at the Arya Vidya Mandir school in Juhu and then enrolled in the United World College of South East Asia to do her International Baccalaureate. She speaks English, Hindi and Punjabi, and is a trained dancer.

Career

Before starting her career off as an actress, Kapoor worked as an assistant under Sanjay Leela Bhansali in 2004, and assisted him during the making of his film, Black which was released in early 2005. She made her acting debut alongside newcomer, Ranbir Kapoor in Bhansali's Saawariya (2007), which failed to do well at the box office. Her performance was opened to good reviews by most critics.

In 2009, Kapoor appeared in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Delhi-6 , opposite Abhishek Bachchan. The film flopped at the box office and received mixed reviews by the critics, but her performance was highly praised. Critic Rajeev MasandPunit Malhotra's I Hate Luv Storys opposite Imran Khan. Next, she made her first appearance at the 64th Cannes Film Festival representing L'Oréal, the brand she endorses in India.

Shashi Naidoo

Shashi Naidoo (born 4 November 1980) is a South African actress and television anchor. She is best known for co-hosting the E!TV magazine show.



   
Naidoo was born and raised in Port Elizabeth, matriculating from Alexander Road High School in 1997.Naidoo moved to Johannesburg to study chiropractic medicine. She completed five years of study and two years of internship at the University of Johannesburg.

Naidoo became known in 2004 when she played Linda McGinty in the E!tv soap opera Backstage.Soon after she had a brief role in the SABC1 soap Generations. Naidoo also appeared in a minor role in the 2007 mini-series Society. Naidoo began co-presenting the youth magazine show EMS Volume 1 on SABC1 on October 2, 2007.

Naidoo dated reality TV contestant Ismail Hendricks, who appeared on the show The Apprentice South Africa in 2005 and married Mark Sandler in December 2009.
